Spring is upon us and the thought of getting outside to entertain is beginning to enter our minds. I know that we are currently planning several outdoor events. One of my newest favorites is a Margaritaville party for a 40th Birthday. This is really becoming fun to plan. We were requested to add some of the original Jimmy Buffet decor from his website,
www.drinkthirty.comWe searched the website and found many great ideas. Then we put our heads together and came up with some really cool ideas of our own. We have decided to add several mini wading pools throughout the yard with chairs around them, so everyone can sit by the pool with their margarita in hand. We have purchased several fringed umbrellas. The bar will be set up complete with a margarita machine that we are renting from
www.grandrental.com/loveland. We have put our prop guy to work making a replica rowboat. This will be used as the bar. We will fill it with ice and set the bottles of water and cans of pop as well as bottles of Corona, of course. I will post pictures as soon as it is complete. We will be able to rent this boat for other parties as well. We found " message in the bottle" invitaions at
www.orientaltrading.com. I think of new details everyday to make this party more fun. LIFE IS IN THE DETAILS. We have scoured the thrift shops as well as the discount stores for anything that might add some flair to the party. This will help keep the budget down for the hosts. Everyone is on a mission to find the coolest items. The planning is a scavenger hunt in itself. We are currently working on the menu. The event will be catered by "A" List Catering,
www.youralistcatering.com We were asked to do a Cajun Boil, complete with crab legs, shrimp, corn on the cob, baby red potatoes, crawfish and sausage. What a treat this will be. We will update you as time goes on with new details ablut the party and pictures as soon as the party takes place in June.
"A" List Event Planning is on a mission to make this party the best it can be for the set budget. We have aquired a large quantity of party decorations for this event. These will be available for rent from us if you are in need of inexpensive party decorations. Call for a list of decorations.
Graduation decoration ideas
The newest party trend that we are working on is a Candy Buffet. These are so fun to prepare. We are working on one of these for graduation party. We have collected apothocary jars and various vases. WE searched Michaels and Hobby Lobby and Marshalls to find just the right sized jars for this buffet. The candy we are using is Black, White and Red. It is so fun to research the different candy. We found ours at
www.candywarehouse.com. We also used inexpensive candy such as licorice and Flipz white chocolate covered pretzels. Cinnamon bears and M&M's. I judged by the size of the jars as to how much candy we would need. Some jars held 4 lbs. of candy and some held less. If you want to keep the cost down use a smaller display of jars, as well as smaller jars. Here are the pictures from the graduation party candy buffet.
THIS GRADUATION CANDY BUFFET WAS A HUGE SUCCESS. THERE WASN'T ANY CANDY LEFT AT THE END OF THE PARTY.

We hosted a Mr. McGregors Garden Party, Complete with (you guessed it) Peter Rabbitt himself.
WE served food items that come directly from our Johnstown/Milliken Farmers Market. The salad will be served in a large terra cotta flower pot, with the rest of the veges in smaller terra cotta pots. The salad dressing was served in watering cans with a spoon because it is to thick to pour.
We used watering cans for the salad dressing. I put a bowl inside the can, and used a small ladel for serving!
